2018 Wind Storm Update – 9/1/2018
Jul 03, 2018Dear Customers:
With the record-setting size and impact of the past storm, our industry at large is experiencing a high volume of phone calls with estimate inquires and insurance-related requests. Our industry experts and the insurance experts are now projecting that the damages from this storm and the recovery effort will last well into 2019.
It is difficult to manage the unusual number of requests and everyone in our industry is experiencing the issue due to the overall size of the storm, the demand on shingles it has caused, the new trucking/ distribution regulations that went into effect in April in the United States and, the severe labor shortages that the construction industry is experiencing. The new forecasted numbers for the labor shortage in just the construction industry is 2 million workers.
As of September 1, 2018, we are suspending all repair services to fulfill existing contracts and scheduled projects already in our system. As we continue to serve and support our community and be reviewed and seen as one of the top roofing and siding companies in our area, we will continue to do our best to help. While this decision did not come easy for any of us, we are confident it is the right one for now.
