As lifelong residents of La Plata, Maryland, Andy and Frank (F.D.) Mudd understand the importance of community. In 2006, the brothers founded Southernwood Framing – quickly establishing themselves as the premier residential framing team throughout Maryland and Northern Virginia.

More than a decade later, SWR&S, is the premier, trusted exterior remodeling and new construction trade partner we are today. Throughout the years, we have helped residents of La Plata and beyond in their quest to reimagine, reshape, and revitalize their existing homes while also supporting reputable builders in delivering the new home dream. Marking a new chapter in our story, industry innovator and leader Roof Depot acquired Southernwood Roofing & Siding, LLC in September of 2021. As the 24th largest roofing contractor in the country, this partnership opened Southernwood up to do more of what we do best: Serving our customers and creating incredible results that exceed all expectations.
