Getting into the Holiday Spirit
Dec 12, 2014From gathering with family and friends to snuggling up by the fire on cold winter nights to decking the halls, the holiday season is a special time in Southern Maryland. One of our favorite nighttime holiday activities is to grab some blankets and a thermos of hot chocolate, and pile in the car to enjoy the holiday light displays in and around the neighborhood.
There’s no shortage of holiday spirit in La Plata, Maryland, that’s for sure! La Plata’s not the only place to see the lights, though. Want your lights set to music? You can enjoy the drive-through Symphony of Lights in Columbia Symphony Woods now through January 4th. Or, check out Lights on the Bay at Sandy Point State Park through January 1st.
If you’re looking for a more interactive experience, head over to Winterfest of Lights in Ocean City and enjoy some hot chocolate, board the Winterfest Express and sing Christmas carols. While you’re there, check out the Yukon Cornelius Gift Shop for that special gift and have your photo taken with Santa! Another must-see a little closer to home is the Garden of Lights at Annmarie Garden and Sculptural Arts Center in Solomons.
